If it is about life, there isn’t a choice, is there? One either lives or dies. A friend of mine, letting go his faith in Christ, once wrote to me and said:
“It is left with each individual to determine and decide what he/she wants to believe”.
True!
Freedom of choice is the inalienable gift God gave us. We can choose to believe what we want and that is why some people have chosen to believe in evolution theory to help them cope with the instinct of inquisitiveness of man—a quest God put in man in order to make the latter seek and worship the former.
Wrong!!
The fact that we have options doesn’t mean we can choose anything.
At the end of the day, however, it boils down to the destination our choices land us into. There is no denying that some people choose depravity and vanity—they will have eternity to regret it since depravity plus vanity equal eternity of regret. Who in his/her right mind would go for this?
So, in a way, the most important thing is not what we want to believe but what the fruits of our belief will be. There are choices that will bring us immediate but temporary gratification. If I have two options each of which begins with “Choice” as follows:
a) choose X for an instant thrill but a lifelong grill
b) choose Y for a temporary grill but a lifelong thrill,
I will not just rash into choosing, I will engage my rational gift in the process of elimination.
